Medication Management

The right plan, carefully tuned.

Psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication support built around you — with regular check-ins so nothing gets missed.

What it is

Together with a member of our psychiatric team, you'll receive a full psychiatric evaluation. That information — along with any relevant medical records, labs, or psychological tests — leads to a comprehensive treatment plan built around your concerns and needs.

Psychiatric medications alone don't cure mental illness. But when prescribed and taken as directed, they can greatly alleviate symptoms and improve overall well-being. Medication management works best alongside therapy or peer support, and our team makes sure those pieces stay connected.

You'll benefit from regular one-on-one sessions with our team — in person or by phone, whichever works better for you. Our goal is timely, personalized support with frequent check-ins to make sure your regimen is actually doing what it should.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Still unsure? Call (833) 496-0445 — we're glad to talk it through.

Who prescribes my medication?

A licensed member of our psychiatric team — a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner — completes the evaluation and manages your prescriptions.

Can I do medication visits by phone or video?

Yes. Most follow-up medication visits can be done by phone or secure video. Some initial evaluations or specific medications may require an in-person visit.

Do you prescribe controlled substances (like Adderall or benzodiazepines)?

Our team prescribes based on clinical need and NC guidelines. Some controlled substances may require in-person visits, urine screens, or coordination with your primary care provider. We'll explain our approach at your evaluation.

How fast do refills happen?

Most refill requests are handled within 1–2 business days. To avoid gaps, request refills at least 5 days before you run out and keep your regular follow-up visits on the calendar.

Do I have to be in therapy too?

Not required, but medication works best alongside therapy or peer support. We can coordinate those in-house so your whole plan stays connected.

Does Medicaid cover this?

Yes. All major NC Medicaid plans and most commercial insurance cover psychiatric evaluations and medication management. We verify your benefits before your first visit.
