FAQ

Frequently asked.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Still unsure? Call (833) 496-0445 — we're glad to talk it through.

How long are sessions and how often will we meet?

Most therapy sessions are 45–55 minutes. Frequency depends on your goals — many clients start weekly and adjust from there with their clinician.

Can I do therapy online, or does it have to be in person?

Both. We offer secure telehealth across North Carolina and in-person visits at our Durham and Greensboro locations. You can switch back and forth as your schedule changes.

Does Medicaid cover therapy at Beacon Bridge?

Yes. We accept all major NC Medicaid plans (Standard and Tailored) and most commercial insurance. You can check your plan on our Verify Coverage page or we'll verify benefits before your first visit.

How do I get matched with the right therapist?

During intake we ask about what you're looking for — style, background, and focus areas — and match you with a clinician whose training fits. If it isn't the right fit, we'll help you switch.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is mostly getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in, what you'd like to be different, and any history that helps them understand your context. No pressure to share more than you're ready to.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. Sessions are confidential under HIPAA. The only exceptions are safety concerns (risk of harm to yourself or others) or abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, which we're legally required to report.

Ready when you are
